Extensive teaching experience in organic chemistry at graduate and undergraduate levels since 1965 and have been working primarily in the fields of Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Organic Reaction Mechanisms since 1966.

The areas of research are as stated below:

*Synthesis of adamantane and related structures of potential anti-cancer and anti-AIDS activity from enamines.

*Synthesis of potential bio-active organic compounds from reactions of ab-unsaturated carbonyl compounds having active hydrogens in acyclic, carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds.

*Synthesis of spiro and spiroketal structures both carbocyclic and heterocyclic of potential drug value.

*Cyclocondensation reactions leading to the synthesis of heterocycles.

*Reactions of ninhydrin with carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur nucleophiles.

Member, New York Academy of Sciences, ID # 491219 since 1999.

National Representative of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) for the years 2008 and 2009.

Academic Visits and Collaborative Research:

Developed collaborative research with different centres in the USA for the use of the instrumental facilities for determination of the structures as well as the bio-activity measurements of organic compounds of potential drug value synthesised in our laboratory.

1993: Visited the Kent State University, George Mason University (GMU) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) of National Institute of Health (NIH), USA as a visiting scientist.

1994: Visited and worked at the GMU and NCI of NIH on continued research programs.

1995: Visited and worked at the GMU and NCI of NIH on continued research programs.

1997: Visited and worked at the GMU and NCI of NIH on continued research programs.

1997: Visited and worked at the research lab of Professor G.A. Olah, Nobel Laureate at the University of Southern California on a co-operative research program for stable carbocation study of substituted adamantanes and diarylideneacetones in superacids media.

1999: Visited and worked at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee as a visiting scientist and NCI of NIH on continued research programs.

2001: Visited and worked at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee as a visiting scientist and NCI of NIH on continued research programs.

2003: Visited and worked at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee as a visiting scientist on continued research program.

2004: Visited and worked at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Campus as a visiting scientist.

2004: Visited the NCI of NIH as a visiting scientist on continued research program.

2005: Visited and worked at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Campus as a visiting scientist and NCI of NIH on continued research programs.

2006: Did updated literature survey in the interested research areas at the Rutgers University Library, New Jersey.

Developed research collaboration in Japan with Kanazawa University (1996), with Kochi University and Kyushu University (2000) and Kyoto University (2003) for the use of their instrumental facilities for determination of structures of organic compounds of potential drug value synthesized in laboratory.
